The influence of Toys on Children

A Child character, personality, and behaviour building starts right away from the childhood. One can say that the things that are given to a child in his/her childhood determine his/her characters when they became an adult. For example, parents treat boys differently than girls in their childhood. Moreover, parents give different kind of toys to boys than they give to girls. Boys are given toys that evoke their male characters for example a car, a plastic gun, and a play station games. On the other hand, girls are given a kind of toys that reflect their female characters for example a baby doll etc.

However, one can say that parent’s different reaction to girls and boys are some way right, but I always wonder why they gave something that is harmful to their children and may have a negative effects on their lives when they became adults. For example, every one is familiar with the fact that most parents gave their children plastic guns. Such kind of toys can have a very negative effect on the child’s future; they might join some groups of gangs. Similarly, another point that needs parent’s attention is that they talk differently to girls than boys. Most parents talk softly to girls than boys. This action can lead to the misunderstanding of the boys. They may think that their parents love his sister more than him. In conclusion, we can say that it is the responsibility of the mother and father to treat all their children equally; to give them equal opportunity education and to love them equally.

  1. Farid, I think parents usually do every thing equally for their children, but they use it in different ways.
